AARDVARK FISHING CATCH LIST
My apologies for not keeping this part of our site up to date but we have a had a number of deaths in the family in the last two years and it was difficult to find time to get on with the site and its development. However we have had a successful 2013 season albeit thin on the ground for customers and sometimes for fish. The number of nets now littering the shoreline bears witness to the slowness of the season and only with the help of a local skipper Suse Lobo have we managed to get customers into some sweet fish.
2014 is a new season and starts on Otober, so I shall endeavour to maintain this part.
In April last year we had as a guest Geoff Cooper, a famous British angler, who now resides in Ireland. We had a great two weeks with him and some of his family, his wife Chris, and Martin and Elaine his cousins I believe. We had some quality fishing and whilst here we locked into a 12kilo Barramundi, a 5kilo Grouper and assorted smaller barramundi and snappers etc, pictures of which you can find in the picture gallery. He will be coming again in this season.
The new government in Goa have taken some impressive steps to improve the lot of the shore fisherman including extending the ban on fishing in the monsoon from 45 days to 75 days.....and maybe to 90 next year. All motorised fishing craft will be banned from fishing at this time also including the placement of nets along the shore. With the better collection of garbage there is less of it thrown into the rivers and the sea and plus the fact that improvements in sewage disposal are continuing, the prospects look nothing but better.......thank you Manohan Parrikar - the Chief Minister of Goa.
We are looking forward now to next years season from October 2014 as this one comes to a close at Aprils end 2013.
Well I went out with Suse on Wednesday 8th October 2014 for the first time this season and I have to say that within 10 minutes of starting the Indian Salmon started feeding, well what can I say, at the end of 2.5 hours I had lost 2 whopping salmon and a lure, but had in the boat 7 fish, two were released because of size but I kept an 8kilo, a 6kilo, a 6kilo and a 3kilo fish being salmon and a 5kilo Grouper......super evening and happy with the results.
Will do more to keep this part up to date this year season starting 2015
We started now getting fish, only singletons on each trip but a 7 kilo Snapper and a 12.5kilo Barramundi on the next, we are going again today with the same crew and an extra guest.....so will keep ya posted. Tight lines everyone.
